About Aaron Neeb
My family has lived in South Huron since the 1880’s. My paternal great-grandfather, Alexander Neeb, served as Reeve of Stephen Township in South Huron and as Huron County Registrar in the 1920’s and 1930’s. I grew up on a farm between Crediton and Dashwood on the Babylon Line in South Huron. My parents, Rosemary and Curtis, were dairy farmers for 25 years. I credit my work ethic to having grown up on a farm working for my father.

At a young age and into my teens, I studied music with Laurie Erb, Anne Spivey, Bob Robilliard and Isaac Moore. These teachers, along with my parents taught me about the importance of hard work, collaboration and constant improvement.
After high school, I was accepted to the University of Western Ontario where I studied music, history and education receiving an Honours Bachelor of Music degree and an Education degree. I was awarded the Don Wright Faculty of Education Scholarship for excellence in instrumental music pedagogy.

After graduation, I began working for the Avon Maitland District School Board and the Huron Perth Catholic District School Board as an occasional teacher. Since 2012, I gained the experience of working with a variety of students from Kindergarten to grade 12 across Huron and Perth Counties. In all of my teaching experiences, I learned the importance of positive relationships built on truth, trust and integrity. A leader must say what they mean and mean what they say.

In 2013, I applied for a position with the Huron Business Development Corporation and worked on three contracts. One of the contracts, Imagine South Huron, was a program to support youth in arts, culture and heritage. At this time, I worked at the South Huron Welcome Centre in the same offices as the South Huron Chamber of Commerce and the Exeter BIA. Through this contract, I was able to start up the Cultural Collective with the support of many like-minded young people from the municipality and beyond.
Working in the arts, I have chaired the Huron Arts and Heritage Network, Art aRound Town and the Cultural Collective.

Throughout my volunteer work, I have had the privilege of being nominated for Citizen of the year in 2019 and won the Youth Excellence Award in 2018. These experiences humble me as I see community contribution as a part of who I am; I believe that strong communities are built upon all of us lending a hand.
In 2018, I married my wonderful wife Katherine whom I met while studying music at the University of Western Ontario. That same year, I was first elected as Councillor for Ward 2 Exeter and have had the opportunity to serve the residents of Exeter. In 2020, in the midst of the early part of the pandemic we welcomed our son Henry Aaron Curtis Neeb into the world. In March of 2026, we also welcomed a daughter, Josie Marie Neeb, into the world. Throughout my eight years as a councillor for Ward 2, my family has been incredibly supportive of my volunteer work and my work as councillor.

Outside of my council work, I continue to teach with the Avon Maitland District School Board and volunteer with the Cultural Collective. I recently took on a leadership position as the director of the Huron Honour Band which combines my passion for music education and community arts and culture. During the summer months, I work on my fathers farm where I operate an apiary of 80 hives.

My experiences working in non-profit, for profit and public sectors have given me great insight into partnerships, collaboration, planning and community economic development. Each of these sectors play an important role in our municipality and deserve to be supported to ensure a healthy community.
As your councillor, I will continue to support community organizations throughout the municipality, make decisions based on data and professional recommendations from staff and follow due process.
